🚧 Boone Avenue Quick Build Project Update 🚧

The City has completed its data collection for the Boone Avenue Quick Build Project and is now beginning the process of scaling the project back to a more manageable level.

Working in coordination with the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC), we have reached an agreement regarding which portions of the project may remain in place.

Over the course of this week, crews will remove the delineator posts and associated pavement markings at the intersection of College Street and Boone Avenue.

The remainder of the project, including the bike lanes, crosswalks, and signage, will remain in place.

We appreciate everyone's patience and participation throughout this process as we continue working to improve safety and connectivity along Boone Avenue. Please use caution around crews and equipment while this work is underway. 🚲🚶‍♀️🚗

The City Commission will meet Tuesday, August 18, 2026, at City Hall, 32 Wall Street, in the Commission Chambers. Special meeting at 4:30 PM. Regular meeting 5:30 PM. All are welcome to attend.

The City of Wi******er Stormater Program with AE Prime, an engineering firm from Lexington, KY, cleaned litter from a quarter mile of stream today along Barnes Drive. Imagine how much litter is in our streams, if this (plus a few more bags) was collected from a little over a 1,000 feet? It's fun to clean our streams!
