Winchester Rescue Mission Provides high quality care to individuals devastated by the effects of poverty and homelessness.

The Winchester Rescue Mission strives to end homelessness in the Northern Shenandoah Valley through healing, help, and hope. Our residency program for men and women who are experiencing homelessness provides shelter, clothing, meals, personal case-management, educational and development programs. Our "Cameron Market" (Mon-Fri @ 10AM) provides food to families in our community in a shopping experience that allows them to choose what they want and need. Our "Cafe on Cameron" serve lunch and dinner to the community 365 days a year. We are able to provide this with the help of 20-30 volunteers a day and the generous financial support of our great community. To find out more how you can donate and volunteer, go to winrescue.org.

🏠 What if the person experiencing homelessness was someone you loved?

A mother. A father. A friend. A neighbor.

Homelessness does not define a person's worth, their story, or their future. Sometimes, circumstances change in ways no one expects, and finding a safe place to call home becomes a daily struggle.

Behind every person experiencing homelessness is a human being with hopes, dreams, and a story worth hearing. They are more than their circumstances, and they deserve to be treated with dignity, compassion, and respect.

This October, we're reminded that a little understanding can go a long way. Instead of looking away, let's choose compassion. Instead of making assumptions, let's choose kindness. And instead of asking why someone is struggling, let's ask how we can help. 💙

At the Wi******er Rescue Mission, we believe everyone deserves the opportunity to find stability, rebuild, and experience hope for the future.

October 17 marked the International Day for the Eradication of Poverty, reminding us that everyone deserves access to life's basic necessities, including food, safe shelter, and the opportunity to build a better future.

Poverty is more than a lack of financial resources. It can mean difficult choices between putting food on the table, paying bills, and finding a safe place to call home. Behind every struggle is a person, a family, and a story that deserves compassion, dignity, and understanding.

🥫💚 October is Tackling Hunger Month | World Food Day 🌎

Today, on World Food Day, we’re reminded that access to nutritious food is a basic necessity, not a privilege. Behind every meal is the opportunity to bring comfort, nourishment, and hope to someone who needs it.

At the Wi******er Rescue Mission, we know that fighting hunger is something we cannot do alone. We are incredibly thankful for every donor, volunteer, supporter, and community member who helps make our mission possible. Your generosity, compassion, and willingness to give remind us what it truly means to care for our neighbors. Our 8th annual Conversations on a Bench has officially wrapped up, and what an incredible 24 hours it was! We had phenomenal face-to-face conversations with local leaders, government officials, and neighbors, shining a bright light on the urgent needs of the marginalized right here in Wi******er.

But we still need your help to cross the finish line. We haven't quite reached our fundraising goal, which is critical: it covers the cost of care for every single person in our programs for an entire month.

Because the need is so great, our generous matching partner has agreed to keep the momentum going. They are extending their match and will continue to DOUBLE every gift made this weekend until Monday at Noon, or until we meet our goal!
