The Winchester Elementary staff, students, and parents know that all of us share a partnership for the education of students. Winchester Elementary Staff is responsible for:

-Providing a safe atmosphere for learning.

-Providing appropriate instruction for your child to achieve their full potential.

-Communicating clear directions for homework.

-Assisting your child in developing a sense of respect and responsibility.

-Keeping you informed about your child’s academic and social progress.

-Welcoming you to be part of our Winchester community of learners. Families are responsible for:

-Ensuring my child attends school daily and on time.

-Providing a time and place for my child to do homework.

-Ensuring that homework is completed, reviewed, and returned on time.

-Reinforcing Winchester’s academic and behavior guidelines.

-Attending parent conferences. Students are responsible for:

-Attending school regularly, ready to learn and participate.

-Coming to school each day with the necessary tools for learning.

-Completing class work and homework.

-Showing respect for myself and others.

-Taking pride in my personal appearance, while following the school dress code.

Now, it’s time for our Respect Recognition! 🌟

This time, we did things a little differently! Instead of nominations coming from your classroom teachers, we asked some of the other amazing teachers around our school to help us out! These are the teachers who help you at recess, during lunch, in reading groups, math groups, and in so many other places throughout your day.

These teachers see you in lots of different situations, and they notice when you make good choices, use kind words, include others, listen, and show respect!

Reading Under the Lights is back, and this year, all Roseburg Schools elementary families are invited!

Join us Monday, Oct. 12, from 6–7 p.m. at Champion Car Wash Field at Stewart Park for an evening of books, blankets and family reading under the stadium lights.

Bring a blanket and your favorite books, or borrow a book at the event. RHS and UCC athletes will also join families for reading!

🚌 NEED A RIDE? Free bus transportation is available!

Sunnyslope Elementary
➡️ Depart Sunnyslope: 4:45 or 5:35 p.m.
⬅️ Depart Champion Field: 7:05 or 7:45 p.m.

Joseph Lane Middle School
➡️ Depart Joseph Lane: 5 or 5:40 p.m.
⬅️ Depart Champion Field: 7:05 or 7:40 p.m.

Please arrive a few minutes before your scheduled departure time. Accessible bus transportation will also be available on this schedule.
