Thanks to the professional help of Matthew Marsden with Mark Ludlow & Linda Zuckerman of M3 Archaeology, we were able to complete the excavation of the T14 South Wall Trench today. As with many of the exploratory digs on the property we seem to end up with more questions than answers. I did have the enjoyment of having two sets of folks stop by and checkout our work. If you know me you know I like to talk.

We continue our exploratory digging at the Fort Loudoun site; 419 North Loudoun St., Wi******er tomorrow, Friday the 28th. The foundation welcomes the help of a couple friendly volunteers that are willing to carefully follow directions. We usually work abt. 8:30 am till abt. 3 pm., but understand if you need to come later or leave earlier. You can plan on bringing water, & your lunch and personal gloves. I have shared gloves and the other tools we will need. If interested please let me know ASAP as we can only accommodate a couple helpers. Thanks.

Today I went to the Fort Loudoun Fort site in Fort Loudoun, Pa. to help as a Wednesday Warriors volunteer. It is an outstanding reconstructed fort that has an interesting Tavern Night event coming up in October. There are a dozen or so colorful historical signs to read and the buildings inside the fort, so plan on attending if possible. Today a crew worked on chinking between the logs in the officers quarters while a crew stood up, secured and topped the upright posts for the Native American summer house. Cool things are happening there. If you are retired or just have Wednesdays off consider going up and giving them a hand. Even helping every other week is a great help. They usually start at 8 am or so. Don & Mike are the lead guys.
