The Murrieta Change is hereby established to be a change agent, disrupt the status quo, and create an environment where more progressive, Democratic candidates can get appointed and elected to partisan and nonpartisan political races up and down future Murrieta election ballots. We will create opportunities, expand Democratic voter rolls, actively survey
voters, and organize a proactive grass roots political organization centered in Murrieta, California. As of September 8, 2014, there were 21,435 Republicans and 11,370 Democrats in the City of Murrieta, out of 45,149 total registered voters. The 42nd Congressional, the 28th State Senate, and the 67th State Assembly districts all encompass Murrieta and are all very safe Republican seats. In fact, except for President of the United States and the California State offices, all partisan and non-partisan elected officials on a Murrieta ballot, are now held by Republicans. Immediate Objectives-
Democrats for Stone: Create an opening on the Riverside County Board of Supervisors, District 3 by insuring Jeff Stone’s election to California’s 28th District State Senate seat. Two Republicans are the “top two” candidates running for the 28th: current Supervisor Jeff Stone and former Assemblywoman, Bonnie Garcia. Democrats cannot win the 28th, but they can determine the outcome, and they can pick up an important nonpartisan District 3 appointment, if Jeff Stone is elected. Governor Jerry Brown, certainly, will appoint a Democrat as Stone’s replacement. This gubernatorial appointment – in short order – would be a very positive addition to the Board of Supervisors. He/she would be in the best position to, then, lobby Governor Brown to restored state funding to our newer cities, including Menifee, Wildomar, Eastvale, and Jurupa Valley. The appointment would jump start our Democratic Murrieta farm team, give us a quick victory, and, immediately establish Murrieta Change as a bipartisan change agent in Southwest Riverside County. It will likely support any other Democrats running for office on the November 2014 ballot. Post November 2014 Objectives-
Starting with one or two higher density Murrieta precincts, Murrieta Change PAC will start to work. We will speak to, listen to, and register voters. We will survey voters, build a data base, learn how to best communicate with them, and encourage them to vote. Precinct captains will be selected and hired. Volunteers will be deployed.
