Hello all,

It is out of an abundance of caution that we announcing the temporary closure of Wind Point Lighthouse for tower climbs. This includes private and public tower climbs like the Open Tower Climb scheduled for this Sunday, August 2nd. We need the tower to be safe for all and to that end, we are investigating the strength of our historic cast iron stairs. At nearly 150 years old, the lighthouse from time to time needs repairs. Sometimes the repairs won’t affect the public’s access, and sometimes, like now, it will. We look forward to reopening for tower climbs soon, and in the meantime, you can still enjoy the historic grounds, have a picnic, visit the gift shop, and take in the awesome beauty of Lake Michigan.

All tickets for the upcoming August 2nd tower climb will be refunded through Eventbrite. As for the upcoming Climb Dates, we are keeping those open for now.

We will keep you updated throughout the process. For now, hang tight!

This is a good time to add that the maintenance of the lighthouse wouldn’t be possible without the support of dedicated folks who are able to give. If you have the means, please consider donating to the Wind Point Lighthouse through the keepers at [email protected], in the gift shop, or at the Village Office.
