Northern EMS The official Northern EMS page. Northern EMS is based out of Windber, PA and provides 24/7 ALS EMS Services 365 days a year.

In August of 1997 the growing need for a full time paid ambulance service, made it necessary for the Windber fire company to form a for profit partnership with the Scalp Level Paint Fire Department, to form a full time paid service known as Northern EMS. Also around this time with severe financial trouble and lack of manpower, the Central City Ambulance Service was dissolved and this area became p

art of Northern EMS. However, on January 1st, 2014, due to high operational and insurance costs, the partnership between Windber Fire Company No. 1 and Scalp Level Paint Fire Department was dissolved. Northern EMS was the placed under the operation of Windber Fire Company No.1 alone. This permitted the ambulance service to regain non-profit status under the Windber Fire Company No.1 501© 3.

Join us for a night of SCOPE Statewide First Responder training on Monday May 16.
You must be preregistered using the link in the attached flyer.
EMS coned hours include: 2 hours med/trauma and 2 hours other.
The registration link will handle your coned registration and your registration for the class. You must preregister using the link in the flyer, this is not a class that you can just show up for.

We would like to congratulate our very own Ryan Statler as he graduates from Seton Hill University from the B.S/M.S Physician Assistant program. Ryan has served with WFD for 9.5 years and Northern EMS for 6 years and is now our Health and Safety Officer.
Ryan will continue to serve our community in both Fire and EMS as he prepares for his boards. Good luck Ryan and Congratulations.
