Let's give a huge round of applause for your 2024 U.S. Army Futures Command Best Squad Competition WINNERS, representing U.S. Army Central (ARCENT). This squad is composed entirely of Soldiers from, 1st Battalion, 121st Infantry and the 48th Infantry Brigade Combat Team. We couldn't be more proud of their remarkable achievements over the past few months.

These soldiers arrived in theater and dominated the ARCENT level competition. They then advanced to the U.S. Army Futures Command (AFC) level, competing at Aberdeen Proving Ground, Maryland.

After a grueling five days, they emerged victorious, earning the top spot. Next, they will advance to compete at the HQDA Level in September.

The Winning Squad consists of:

Congratulations to the 7 Soldiers who recently graduated from the Colonel Besik Kutateladze Sachkere Mountain Training School in the Republic of Georgia! During the course students were pushed physically, and challenged mentally in the areas of mountain climbing, ascending a static rope, casualty evacuation, high elevation ruck marching, and navigating dangerous terrain. Their success is a testament to the relationship our state has formed with the Republic Georgia through the State Partnership Program, a program which allows us to train side by side with our allies across the globe.

The scouts & snipers of HHC 1-121 are an energetic, motivated, professional group of Soldiers. This photo shows the scouts and snipers after conducting military mountaineering at Mt. Yonah.

To make it into the scouts and snipers, Soldiers must complete a selection that tests them mentally and physically. Do you have what it takes? PM us for more information.

Oh Behalf of the Adjutant General of Georgia: Monday, January 17, is set aside as a holiday for our nation to pause, remember, and celebrate the life and work of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. This day offers us the opportunity to consider Dr. King's remarkable legacy and to rededicate ourselves to his principles of unity and equality.

On this day, I ask that you each consider how Dr. King's vision of a country and society based on equality of opportunity is echoed in the vision of the Georgia Department of Defense. We are an organization that provides all with equal opportunity to achieve their full potential. Our Soldiers, Airmen, and civilian employees must have an unobstructed path to their full potential based on their individual merit.
