TRAFFIC ALERT

The Barrow County Sheriff’s Office is advising motorists to use caution on Highway 211 NW at Old Thompson Mill Road due to loose gravel obstructing the roadway.

The gravel poses a significant hazard, particularly for motorcyclists navigating the curve.

Please reduce your speed, remain alert, and use extreme caution when traveling through this area.

Please keep Walton County in your prayers. Captain Tallant was one of the best to serve.

The Barrow County Sheriff’s Office was honored to be invited to participate in Community Helpers Week at Bethlehem Elementary School yesterday.

Our deputies had a great time reading The Gruffalo to the students, talking with them about the responsibilities of law enforcement, and handing out badges and stickers to all the kids.

The teachers and students were incredibly thankful for our deputies taking the time to visit and read with them. We were even told, “I’m pretty sure the entire class wants to be a cop now!”

Thank you for inviting the Barrow County Sheriff’s Office to be part of such a special day. We always enjoy spending time with the young members of our community!

The Barrow County Sheriff’s Office would like to thank Target for partnering with us for today’s Car Seat Safety Event. We also want to thank all of the certified car seat technicians for their time and expertise in helping keep our youngest passengers safe.

A special thank you to everyone who came out to have their car seats inspected, ask questions, and learn more about proper car seat safety.

We appreciate everyone who helped make today’s event a success.

One of our deputies had the opportunity to read “The Deputy’s Promise” to the students. We’re always grateful for opportunities to visit our schools and build positive relationships with our youth.
