Here we go - - - Happy to announce the Spring 2015 roster of instructors and classes (beginning March 16th at $100/ten-week course). In addition, for the first time we will be offering a 10% discount to seniors (age 65 and over).
Spring offerings are:
Chuck Swierad Digital Photography II (Wednesdays 7-9 PM)
This course will review basic camera operation and will explore advanced camera focus and exposure modes. The application of camera settings to different photographic situations and rules of composition will be covered. The class will be interactive with emphasis on student critiques. One class will be a photographers' field trip to a location TBD. Students must supply their own 1) digital camera, 2) instruction booklet for your camera, 3) memory stick or SD card with USB adapter, and 4) sheets of 8 1/2" x 11" photo paper for an ink jet printer. (Note: Requires a $15 materials fee)
Rod Labbe - Write your novel (Mondays, 6-8 PM)
We’ve all said, at one time or another, “I should write a book.” Well, why not now? Rod Labbe, published novelist and freelance writer, will guide you through the many fun and educational steps toward writing your novel…or your memoirs! Who knows, you could be the next Stephen King! Is it easy to write a novel? No. But if you have the drive, the determination, and the discipline, you’d be surprised at what can be accomplished! Find out how to structure your book to make it a page-turner! We’ll also be using the class as a writer’s group, reading and critiquing our writing and helping to make it shine. Come on, what are you waiting for? That novel’s not going to write itself!
David Connaughton - Business Analysis for Entrepreneurs (Tuesdays 7-9 PM)
This 10 week 20 hour course introduces entrepreneurs and small business owners to the concepts, tools, and techniques used by leading edge business professionals to head off and resolve a wide range of business problems. Focus is on the talents and skills required by individuals and small teams to create a fiscally sound, effective, and efficient business. The instructor, David Connaughton, is a Windham resident and international consultant with over 30 years experience across many industries in organizations of all sizes. His books on business analysis, salesmanship, and production operations are available on Amazon.com and on his web site, roi-team.us. (Note: This course requires the purchase of two texts)
Freeda Ostis - Stained Glass 101 (Mondays 6:30-8:30 PM)
Stained glass is for everyone. While it does entail using a soldering iron, glass cutter, and glass grinder, don’t let the tools and techniques deter you from the unique pleasure of creating your own masterpiece. This class shares the basic stained glass techniques, from choosing how to cut out a pattern to efficient soldering practices. You'll learn the basic skills to eventually able to build beautiful windows, lamp shades, and more with your newfound skills. (Note: Requires a $25 materials fee)
