Our mission is to spread love & give back to our community through nonprofit partnerships.

We’re proud to share that thanks to all of YOU, we were able to donate more than $650 to KADI - Knock and Drop Iowa!

This has been a difficult week for our community, and we’re grateful to all the “good neighbors” who stepped up to speak out & build our community up while so many are trying to tear it down. We believe in supporting our neighbors over political parties, fair & transparent pathways to citizenship for all, & radical empathy forever.

By now, many of you have heard about the disappearance & detainment of our beloved DMPS Superintendent, Dr. Ian Roberts. We are sad. We are scared. But most of all, we are more committed than ever to standing up for what is just.

All proceeds from our new “Be A Good Neighbor” shirt will be donated to honor DMPS Superintendent, Dr. Ian Roberts, & continue his good work while we call for justice. There are a lot of things we don’t know right now. But what we do know is Dr. Roberts has always proven to be a good neighbor to our community. Showing up for us, leading with radical empathy, & encouraging us to be a little stronger & better each day—on the track or off. It’s our turn to be a good neighbor to him.

We’ll be donating proceeds from each shirt sold to Knock & Drop Iowa to help ensure all of Dr. Roberts’ students & families he cared so much about will have culturally specific support for food & basic necessities during this time. We love when new customers find us for the first time! But, did you know we have been in business since 2019?!

We started as Sugar Valley Prints & Stationery, a solo business run by Nadia as a way to build her graphic design skills--an interest that she picked up from our late Uncle Shannon. While she mostly did work for family & friends, Natasha was right next to her, encouraging her to take the business even further. Nadia launched to the public, doing small vendor shows & farmers markets as she figured out her niche creating art to promote social justice. In 2022, Natasha & Greg officially added their own lines to the business and we became Sugar Valley Collective!

Sugar Valley Collective isn’t just business as usual. When we started our business, we knew we wanted to do more than just generate income. We wanted to generate change in our community. And wow, have we done that!

Since 2019, we’ve given back more than $15,000 in profits through mutual aid & donations to local nonprofits. No matter what you buy for us, a percentage of profit is always returned to our communities. Your purchases help support trauma survivors, fill community fridges, level the playing field in education, & support neighbors through difficult times.

Our goal is to give back another $1,000 by the end of 2025. Can you help us get there?!

How many siblings get to say they not only get to work together, but also live just a few houses apart? WE DO!

Yes, you heard that right. We love each other so much that we not only voluntarily choose to run a business together outside of our full-time jobs, we also chose to live close enough we can literally yell across a few yards just to talk to each other. As you can imagine, that comes with both joys & frustrations. (Especially when Natasha "borrows" a condiment from Nadia's fridge & never returns it!) However, after spending six years living more than ten hours apart, we can honestly say that getting to work together & live next to each other is one of the biggest blessings of our life.

Happy National Siblings Day to all who celebrate from this Sibling-Owned Small Business! We hope you will come visit these sisters (and our parents!) at all of our upcoming summer & fall markets!

Being a good neighbor encapsulates everything it means to be a good human. Caring about those around us, being mindful of our impact on others, and showing up when help is needed. Proceeds go back to Des Moines Refugee Support as they support families as they establish their roots in Des Moines.
