🚨 Connecticut Fire Academy 2027 Calendar Class Host Requests Now Open🚨

The Connecticut Fire Academy is now accepting requests from departments interested in hosting 2027 Calendar Classes at their facility.

Departments wishing to host classes must submit a separate request for each class they are interested in hosting. Each host department will receive two complimentary host seats for every approved class.

All programs are delivered by Connecticut Fire Academy instructors who bring extensive real-world experience, technical knowledge, and subject matter expertise to every class, ensuring high-quality professional instruction for students across the state.

Class locations will be selected based on calendar availability and geographic distribution to help improve regional access to training opportunities throughout Connecticut.

Important Dates:
• Host Request Form Opens: June 1, 2026
• Submission Deadline: July 31, 2026

Available classes will be listed directly within the online request form through an easy-to-use dropdown menu.

This process is beginning earlier than in previous years with the goal of releasing the 2027 Training Calendar sooner.

Earlier publication will provide departments with additional planning time, increase awareness of available programs, and help improve enrollment opportunities statewide.

We appreciate the continued partnership and support from Connecticut’s fire service community and look forward to another strong year of training in 2027.

This week, our forcible entry mobile training prop is on site with the Bristol Fire Department as Bristol firefighters continue sharpening and refining their skills through a variety of advanced forcible entry scenarios.

Training on realistic, challenging prop setups allows crews to build proficiency, improve decision-making, and strengthen coordinated fireground operations in a controlled environment before those skills are needed on the street.

Strong work by everyone involved and thank you to the Bristol Fire Department for their commitment to continual training, professional development and trust in the CT Fire academy to deliver this quality training!

Even though Recruit School has concluded, the Connecticut Fire Academy remains extremely busy.

Today, the Academy conducted UTV operator training, hosted our Massachusetts maritime training program, and welcomed the Connecticut State Police FEIU as they delivered forensic investigation training for approximately 100 students from Lakeview High School Region 20 in Litchfield and the Thomaston High School Forensics classes.

These types of programs highlight the wide range of training, partnerships, and educational opportunities taking place at the Academy every day.

From emergency response and specialized operations to public safety education and student outreach, the Academy continues to support the fire service, law enforcement, and the next generation of public safety professionals across Connecticut.
