Spreading Seeds of Joy

A heartfelt thank you to our new friends at Arbella Insurance of Farmington for generously donating their time, gardening expertise, and kindness to enhance one of our local youth programs. In celebration of Earth Day and as part of the 2026 United Way of Central and Northeastern Connecticut's 860Cares initiative, members of the Arbella dream team dedicated their efforts to removing weeds, planting flowers, and revitalizing both the front and backyards of our Plainville youth residential program. Their contributions have improved the homelike atmosphere of the program.

We are genuinely thankful for the care and support they have shown our young people through their compassionate gardening efforts. We are incredibly thankful to our colleagues at United Way for organizing this vital giving initiative, which provides engagement experiences for community members and boosts our support networks.

At Lisa’s House, our highly trained staff provides specialized therapy services for young girls aged 12-17, equipping them with essential life skills to manage emotions, build strong relationships, and make choices that encourage a healthy lifestyle.

The 2026 service initiative for this United Way chapter featured over 300 volunteers working on nearly 30 local projects this week.

Thank you to QuikTrip for awarding CSI a $500 grant to support youth and families served by our Multisystemic Therapy (MST) team in Valdosta, Georgia.

MST is an intensive, in-home therapy program that works alongside families, schools, and community partners to support youth with complex needs and help families build stability at home.

This funding will help meet immediate basic needs for families, including food, clothing, hygiene items, and safe transportation to school, appointments, and other essential activities. Meeting these needs helps reduce stress and allows families to more fully engage in therapy and long-term change.

Thank you to QuikTrip for supporting families and strengthening the Valdosta community.

Work is already underway at CSI’s Supervised Apartments and Independent Living (SAIL) program in Meriden, thanks in part to the generous support of The Farms Foundation.

With this funding, we’ve begun making important updates to resident apartments, including fresh paint, kitchen improvements, and other upgrades that are helping create safer, more welcoming, home-like spaces for young adults, including expectant and parenting youth.

CSI’s SAIL program provides safe, supportive transitional apartments for young adults transitioning from the CT Department of Children and Families’ care. With 24/7 staff support, residents receive guidance in education, employment, and housing, helping them build confidence and the skills needed to move forward.

We’re grateful to The Farms Foundation for helping bring these improvements to life and for their continued investment in creating spaces where young people can truly feel at home. The Farms Country Club

We’re excited to share an important leadership update at Community Solutions, Inc.!

The Board of Directors has appointed Kimberly S. Selvaggi as our new Chief Executive Officer. Kim brings a steady, values-driven leadership style and a deep commitment to advancing meaningful, measurable impact for the individuals, families, and communities we serve.

An accomplished nonprofit executive, Kim has extensive experience leading human services organizations through thoughtful growth, operational strengthening, and equity-centered, community-based solutions. She previously served as Executive Director of LISA, Inc., where she oversaw organizational strategy, fiscal management, compliance, and partnerships with public and private funders. Following LISA, Inc.’s merger with CSI in 2020, Kim assumed the role of Chief Strategy Officer, continuing to deliver measurable results while guiding strategic growth and strengthening organizational systems across CSI.

"I am honored by the confidence the Board has placed in me and deeply proud of the work Community Solutions, Inc. does every day in partnership with our communities," said Kim. "Our focus remains on delivering high-quality services, measuring what matters, and growing in ways that ensure long-term, sustainable impact."

As CSI enters this next chapter, we remain committed to continuity, transparency, and collaboration—and we are grateful for the trust of our partners and supporters as we continue strengthening communities and expanding opportunity together.

Thank you to our community for your continued support.

Shop with Purpose at Stop & Shop and Help Change a Life!

When you are shopping this month and purchase a $2.50 reusable Community Bag at the Stop & Shop located at 900 Tiogue Avenue in Coventry, Rhode Island, $1 is donated directly to CSI. These funds benefit Coventry House, our youth residential program serving young boys aged 12–17 referred by the Rhode Island Department of Children, Youth and Families (DCYF).

Program staff utilize these funds generated from this giving initiative to provide basic needs essentials and recreational activities for the boys.

Whether you are picking up weekly groceries or preparing for a festive gathering, grab a bag that gives back to youth. If you're at a different Stop & Shop location, you can simply write in "Community Solutions, Inc." on the tag, and CSI will still receive the donation.

Countdown to an Inspiring Art Exhibition

We are just a few days away from revealing the magnificent artworks created by our talented California program participants.

“Art From the Heart” is an exceptional art exhibition that highlights the innovative creations from individuals involved in our Multidimensional Anti-Recidivism Program (M.A.P.) in San Bernardino, California, scheduled for this Thursday, March 26.

In partnership with our community partner, Five Keys Schools & Programs, this exhibition aims to celebrate the artistic abilities of more than 50 individuals from various educational backgrounds.

Five Keys Assistant Principal Roldan Galvez notes, "The purpose of this event is to bring together our community members and partners into a collective space of artistic expression. For our students, this is their opportunity to use their creativity and share with our community their hidden talents- giving them the safe space to reflect on their lived experiences and connect on a deeper level with others who may have struggled with similar circumstances."

Administered by CSI, the M.A.P. Program offers rehabilitative and community reintegration services for justice-involved adults. It provides treatment, vocational training, and personal development opportunities that promote self-sufficiency and foster long-term success.

We hope you can join us for this special event!
