'Miracle houses' aren't magic; they're the result of hard work and smart planning. Start protecting your home today by reducing vulnerabilities and hardening its structure. Remember, the key is to get started, even if it's difficult and time-consuming.

Your fence could be a direct path for fire to reach your home.

Recent wildfire research has made one thing clear:
wooden fences can carry flames straight to your house—especially when aligned with wind.

If your fence connects directly to your home, that’s a serious vulnerability—particularly with wood siding.

The fix is simple and effective:

• Create a break: replace the first 5–8 feet of fence next to your home
• Use non-combustible materials: chain link, metal gate, or other ignition-resistant options
• Interrupt the pathway: stop flames from traveling fence → house
• Check alignment: fences running with wind can accelerate fire spread

This is one of the easiest retrofits you can make, and one of the most important.

Small change. Big impact.
