🚨 TORNADO WATCH IN EFFECT UNTIL 11:00 PM 🚨

The National Weather Service has issued a Tornado Watch for Lincoln County and surrounding areas until 11:00 PM this evening.

If you do not have a safe place to shelter, Winfield Foley Fire Protection District – Station 1 is available as a public storm shelter. Our rear (north side) entrance will be open for anyone who needs a safe place during severe weather.

Please:
✅ Park on the blacktop parking lot only.
✅ Enter through the rear door marked “Storm Shelter.”
✅ Help keep all driveways and fire truck access routes clear for emergency responders.

Your safety is our priority. Please stay weather aware this evening, and don’t hesitate to use the shelter if you need it.

⛈️ Our region has been upgraded to a 3/5 severe weather risk for today.

Our shelter at WFFPD Station 1 is open and available until the storms pass.

If you need a safe place:
✔️ Park on the blacktop
✔️ Use the north-side entrance
✔️ Follow signs to the shelter

Please stay safe and have multiple ways of receiving weather updates.

We are currently assisting City of Winfield with a controlled burn off Voodoo Lane.

This will generate smoke and flames for at least a few hours.

Trucks are on scene to assist should the need arise.

We would like to congratulate two of our own WFFPD members, Chris Swafford and Harrison Kothe, on graduating from the St. Louis Fire Academy today!

While they are beginning a new chapter in their firefighting careers serving the citizens of St. Louis City, they will continue to maintain their membership with WFFPD as volunteer firefighters serving our community as well.

We are proud of their dedication, hard work, and commitment to the fire service. Please join us in congratulating Chris and Harrison on this tremendous accomplishment!
