Winneconne Police Department Winneconne PD provides community oriented law enforcement services, partnering with the residents, businesses and visitors of the Village of Winneconne, WI

The police officers of the Village of Winneconne shall be available to any citizen at all hours of the day and night. The Village’s officers are highly skilled in law enforcement, including conducting investigations, arresting law breakers, assisting on all medical emergencies and protecting citizens against criminal attack. The police officer shall have the ability to act as a minister, social wo

rker, diplomat, “tough guy”, and gentleman. The officer uses a kindhearted word often, and a firm hand when necessary. The officer must have the knowledge of, and the ability to refer people to, area resources, in order to assist them in their daily lives. The Police Department requires a reliable, well trained corps of personnel, as well as the necessary equipment related to police department activities. The Police Department is staffed by a Chief, four full time officers, a secretary, and part time officers who work on an “as need” basis.

**REMINDER**

Tonight is National Night Out at Lake Winneconne Park from 6pm-8pm. Emergency vehicles, the dragon boat and DPW trucks will be there for touch a truck. We will have food and refreshments free of charge. There will be a bounce house and a dunk tank with your very own, SRO Honer getting dunked. The Winneconne Winneconne Public Library will be there with tattoos and face painting. Omro Police Department K9 Zoro will be there for a demo too.

We are looking forward to a nice evening to continue our partnership with the wonderful people within this community. Our goal is to build relationships by all of us getting to know each other. We hope to see you there.

The Winnebago County Sheriff's Office, the Winneconne Police Department, and the Winnebago County Medical Examiner's Office are releasing the identities of the deceased individuals as follows:

• Lenora Manke (daughter) age 11
• Jaelyn Manke (daughter) age 16
• Jeffrey Manke (father) age 57

The investigation into these deaths remains ongoing.

Our thoughts remain with the family and friends of all those affected by this tragic event.

On Friday, July 31st at approximately 6:58PM the Village of Winneconne Police Department, the City of Omro Police Department, and the Winnebago County Sheriff's Office were dispatched to a residence in the 500 block of Division Street, in the Village of Winneconne in reference to a medical incident and welfare check.

Upon arrival Officers and Deputies located three individuals deceased, inside of the home. Due to the circumstances of the incident, the Village of Winneconne Police Department requested that the Winnebago County Sheriff's Office become the primary investigating agency.

Based on the evidence at the scene and the information gathered during the investigation, this was determined to be an isolated incident, and there is no danger or threat to the public.
This remains an active investigation, and no further information will be released at this time.

The Winnebago County Sheriff's Office and Winneconne Police Department were assisted on scene by the City of Omro Police Department, The Winnebago County Medical Examiner's Office, Winneconne-Poygan Fire Department First Responders, and Lifestar-Southern Winnebago EMS.

Thank you to all the customers that donated for this cause. Also, thank you Winnebago County, Wisconsin Sheriff’s Office for teaming up with us at the Oshkosh Culvers at the Westowne Location. Deputies will be there this evening again.

Join us on Tuesday, August 4th 6pm-8pm at Lake Winneconne Park for National Night Out.

It's a fun time for people from the community to check out the emergency vehicles and hang out with us, the fire department and the crew from public works. Oh and the Winneconne Public Library will be there too! They always do fun things!
