Winnemucca's Historic Resources Commission (HRC) was created in 2018, when the City of Winnemucca approved Ordinance 823 and added Chapter 2.56 to its Municipal Code.

May is Historic Preservation Month! To recognize it locally, the City of Winnemucca will issue a proclamation, an award will be given to someone for their work to preserve a local historic structure(s), and a Bridge Street architectural scavenger hunt will launch May 17th during the Humboldt County Chamber of Commerce's' Wine Walk. The first 100 people to successfully complete the scavenger hunt will receive a commemorative token. See the flyer below for more information!
