What a humbling experience this ride has been! I threw my hat in the ring of hospital board running with out a clue what I was doing and what all it really would hold in store for me. Here, I am! I won the election. I got the vote and the community's trust to be their voice. I never imagined this wild ride would lead all the way here. I was able to run this campaign with out a single penny given to me. Granted, it was Facebook and word of mouth. I am truly humbled at the support I received from friends as far away as Florida and as close as home. Thank you all for your support and super kind words of encouragement. We can make this a great hospital for an even greater community. With all of your support the sky is the limit. Thank you!

Good evening! The candidates night last week went great! I received a lot of great feedback back from many community members. I know I don't have a lot of advertising out there, but as we all know, groceries and a roof over my family's heads is a very real need. I am trying this campaign without soliciting funds from anyone. I really greatly appreciate the love and support of this community. In my final statement, I just ended with the fact that I want to help this community love the hospital and the humans that run it as much as I do. I understand there are always going to be issues that need to be worked on and improvements made. Sometimes, the community can help with that. Historically, this community has had a rough time keeping providers, I feel if we could be a bit more welcoming to them and their families, we could keep them here. In some regards we kick butt in this category and others we could do better. Together, we can make a difference. We just have to be patient and be willing to help unravel the knot in the communication and work through it. Thank you all for the support you have shown me this far. Please keep it up and we can make a change and a difference.

It is Tuesday evening! Next week will be the 4th Tuesday, what are your plans for the evening? Well, if you are interested in what's happening with your local hospital here in Winnemucca, you should stop in to the HGH board meeting at 530. I will be there as soon as I finish with my 4H meeting. It promises to be interesting and informative. If you have concerns, get them listened to in the public comments.

Tomorrow is once again a hospital board meeting. I'm encouraging all of the public to show up. If you have concerns about how things are going, there's a public comment period. If you have something that went well and want to share, there's a public comment period. Things can't be fixed if the people in the seats don't know they're broken.

I have been busy attending family and home. Sorry, I haven't posted for a while. We have had family visit from Texas and California. Good times have been had. I feel so blessed to be able to share my home and town with those I love.
