The Humboldt County School District (HCSD) is a K-12 public school system located in rural North Central Nevada, 170 miles east of Reno, Nevada. The district serves over 3500 students in 11 schools - three K-4 elementary schools, a 5-6 middle school, a 7-8 junior high school, and a 9-12 high school located in the City of Winnemucca, Nevada; as well as four K-8 schools and one K-12 school in rural

areas located throughout Humboldt County. A long-time HSCD administrator Dr. Jensen is in his first year leading a district seeing steady student enrollment growth and initiating a number of student-centered learning projects to meet the learning needs of a diverse student population.

We're Hittin' the Road with Nevada TRIP!

The Nevada TRIP (The Roadmap Through Innovative Partnerships) interactive website has launched! This powerful tool is helping students with disabilities, their parents, and educators navigate the process from elementary to middle to high school and beyond to adult life and independence.

At Nevada TRIP, we believe every traveler deserves a solid roadmap, the right tools, and a supportive crew.

Currently, the website is publicly available to all through the Visitor’s Pass. It is also available for Student Registration in 3 Nevada pilot school districts: Carson City, Humboldt, and White Pine, with more districts to come!

October 2025: Douglas, Nye, Pershing

October 2026: Elko, Eureka, Lander, Lincoln, Lyon, Washoe

October 2027: Churchill, Clark, Esmeralda, Mineral, Storey and the State Public Charter School Authority
