Humboldt General Hospital would like to express our sincere gratitude to the Tri-County Drug Enforcement Team for the meaningful and informative presentation they provided. On December 18th, 2025 the Humboldt County Sheriff's Office and Trident Narcotics Task Force conducted a joint operation leading to a traffic stop on Grass Valley Road. During the traffic stop K-9 Maverick was utilized to conduct a sniff of the vehicle resulting in a positive alert. The subsequent search of the vehicle resulted in the seizure of a large amount of methamphetamine and a loaded handgun. All three occupants of the vehicle were arrested. In the investigation that followed, a search warrant was served at a residence in Winnemucca later the same day, resulting in the seizure of additional methamphetamine. On December 19, 2025, K-9 Maverick assisted during a follow-up investigation and an additional 142 grams of methamphetamine were discovered. Since completing training and hitting the road in October, 2025, assists with K-9 Maverick have led to seizures of over 400 grams of methamphetamine, numerous fentanyl pills, and 24 fi****ms related to drugs and drug trafficking.
