Tonight, the Winner Volunteer Fire Department had the honor of celebrating Brad Whitley’s retirement after 36 years of dedicated service. For more than three decades, Brad answered the call whenever our community needed him, giving countless hours to protect and serve the citizens of Winner and the surrounding area.

We would also like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Brad’s family. The commitment of a firefighter is a sacrifice shared by those at home, and over the years they have missed family dinners, holidays, special events, and countless moments while Brad was serving others. Their support made his service possible, and we are grateful for that sacrifice.

Brad’s dedication, leadership, friendship, and sense of humor have left a lasting impact on our department. While we wish him nothing but the best in retirement, there is no doubt he will be greatly missed around the fire hall. Thank you, Brad, for 36 years of selfless service. Congratulations on a well-earned retirement!

Today, we remember and honor the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country and our freedom. Memorial Day is more than a long weekend — it is a time to reflect on the courage, service, and sacrifice of our fallen heroes.

The Winner Volunteer Fire Department would like to wish everyone a safe and meaningful Memorial Day. As we gather with family and friends, please take a moment to remember those who gave everything for the freedoms we enjoy each day.

Thank you to all who have served, and especially to those who never made it home. 🇺🇸

Last night during drill night, the firemen got some hands-on practice with our tools by playing our own version of Jenga and pick-up sticks. These drills help sharpen teamwork, communication, and precision when operating equipment in tight situations. Training and practice are some of the most important things firefighters can do to stay prepared and ready when the call comes in.

Thank You from the Winner Volunteer Fire Department!

We want to thank everyone who helped make this year’s Firemen’s Dance a huge success. We appreciate everyone who came out and showed their support. Weston Frank put on an incredible show, and we’re grateful to everyone who mailed in donations, purchased raffle tickets, and supported the half-and-half drawing at the dance.

A special thank you to The Black Lab for hosting breakfast, and to the Bices for safely getting everyone to and from the dance. Also the Winner DOES for joining us again this year selling popcorn and pop. It was some good popcorn. And finally KWYR for their continued support to the Winner Fire Dept. getting the word out for us.

We truly appreciate the continued support of our community. Without your generosity and support, none of this would be possible. Thank you for standing behind the Winner Fire Department!
