The Winnetka Police Department may be utilizing a drone during this weekend’s Music Festival on Friday and Saturday. Signs will also be posted at major entry points informing attendees that a drone may be in use for real-time monitoring to help ensure participant safety.

Under State law 725 ILCS 167/5, police are required to provide at least 24 hours’ advance public notice of planned drone use. Any drones operated by the Police Department will adhere strictly to FAA safety regulations during their operation.

Today, Detective Josue Perez was promoted to the rank of Sergeant.

Sergeant Perez will celebrate 15 years of dedicated service to our Village this June. Throughout his career, he has demonstrated professionalism, leadership, and a strong commitment to our community.

UPDATE: Rosewood Avenue Home Invasion Investigation

As a follow-up to our previous update regarding the March 8 home invasion on Rosewood Avenue, the U.S. Attorney’s Office has announced that an eighth defendant has been charged in federal court with robbery and kidnapping offenses.

The case remains an example of the strong partnerships between local and federal law enforcement agencies in holding violent offenders accountable and enhancing public safety throughout our communities.

🌽🥕 Opening Day at the Winnetka Farmers' Market! 🥕🌽

Our officers stopped by this morning to say hello and welcome everyone to another great season at the Winnetka Farmers' Market!

Now entering its 8th year, the market is located at 754 Elm Street in Winnetka and will be open every Saturday through October 31 from 7:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., rain or shine, for a total of 22 weeks.

The market is a wonderful opportunity to support local farmers, vendors, and small businesses while enjoying fresh produce, specialty foods, and community connections.

We look forward to seeing residents and visitors throughout the season. Stop by, shop local, and enjoy everything the Winnetka Farmers' Market has to offer!
