The 𝗚𝗮𝗹𝘃𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗻 𝗖𝗼𝘂𝗻𝘁𝘆 𝗦𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗳𝗳’𝘀 𝗢𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗲, along with their law enforcement partners, is preparing for Jeep Weekend and looks forward to welcoming everyone. To ensure a 𝗳𝘂𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘀𝗮𝗳𝗲 𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲, please remember to respect our beaches, adhere to traffic advisories, and drink responsibly.

Please be advised that there will be an 𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗲𝗱 𝗹𝗮𝘄 𝗲𝗻𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗰𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗽𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 throughout the event, and a 𝙯𝙚𝙧𝙤-𝙩𝙤𝙡𝙚𝙧𝙖𝙣𝙘𝙚 𝙥𝙤𝙡𝙞𝙘𝙮 will be in effect; violations of the law 𝘄𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗯𝗲 𝗲𝗻𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗰𝗲𝗱.

All lanes reopened

TRAFFIC UPDATE 2:54 PM

All lanes of Interstate 10 near SH 124 in Winnie have reopened to traffic.

TRAFFIC UPDATE:

Sheriff Brian Hawthorne reports that the crash has tragically claimed the life of a reserve deputy constable from a neighboring jurisdiction. The incident involved an 18-wheeler and the off duty deputy constable, who was conducting traffic control along the interstate. Our thoughts and prayers are with the deputy constable's family and loved ones.

Eastbound lanes of Interstate 10 remain closed near SH 124 in Winnie, with traffic being diverted to Highway 73 as the Texas Department of Public Safety continues to investigate the scene. Additional traffic updates will be shared as more information becomes available.

🚨 TRAFFIC ALERT 🚨

Emergency personnel are responding to a major accident on Interstate 10 Eastbound east of SH 124 in Winnie near the county line.

All eastbound lanes are currently shut down, and traffic is being diverted to Highway 73 while first responders work the scene.
