June is Scleroderma Awareness Month

This month, we stand together to raise awareness for those living with scleroderma-a rare autoimmune disease that affects the skin, connective tissue, and internal organs.

What is Scleroderma?
Scleroderma means “hard skin,” but its impact goes far beyond that. It can cause stiffness, pain, and fatigue, and in some cases, affect vital organs like the lungs and heart. While there’s no cure yet, early diagnosis and treatment can help manage symptoms and improve quality of life.

Treatment & Support:
-Medications to reduce inflammation and improve circulation
- Physical therapy to maintain flexibility and strength
- Emotional support and community connections that make a difference

How You Can Help:
- Learn and share facts about scleroderma
- Support research and advocacy efforts
- Wear blue to show solidarity and hope

Whether you are personally affected or simply want to learn more, this edition is filled with meaningful insights and supportive tools for our community.

Inside this month's issue:
-Understanding Alzheimer's and early detection

Annual employee crawfish boil was a great time for all! Thank you to our amazing team of employees whose hard work and dedication day in and day out keep us all doing what we do best. Truly, during EMS week we are able to show our appreciation more loudly, but we truly are fortunate to have such a skilled group of providers. Thanks to all who came out, and thanks to those who organized the boil. It’s a wonderful tradition that will continue for years to come
