Winnsboro Fire Dept. would like to remind the citizens of Franklin Parish that we are seeing severe day time temperatures near 100 and heat index of over 100. Please try to limit outside activities to the early morning or late evening hours when temperatures should be cooler. If you must be outside please drink plenty of water to stay hydrated and take frequent breaks. Starting today the people of Winnsboro will be seeing Winnsboro Firemen and Winnsboro Fire Dept. vehicles out visiting the business located in Winnsboro. They will be conducting prefire plans of these business. These are NOT inspections for violations, these visits are designed to help us incase there is a fire in that building and for the safety of our firefighters. You maybe asked for contact information and to allow us to make a drawing of the building, again this is strictly for the safety of our firefighters and all information is kept at the Fire dept. and not shared with the public. Thank you for your support.
