Sheriff Bryan Linder invites you to join us in remembering and reflecting this week, National Police Week. I am grateful for the dedicated service of all of our deputies, who get up each and every day, in service to our parish.
Each May, the nation comes together to reflect on courage, sacrifice and dedication by law enforcement officers. Originally established in 1962, National Police Week includes Peace Officers Memorial Day on May 15th and includes a time of observation recognizing those who have given their lives, the ultimate sacrifice, in the line of duty, as well as those who serve each and every day protecting our communities.
National Police Week brings us a time for remembrance of those who gave the ultimate sacrifice, as well as a time of appreciation for the men and women who serve with integrity and bravery every day. Never forget that behind every badge is a story. A story filled with service, sacrifice and family.
Those who have gone before us, giving the ultimate sacrifice:
