🚒 MUTUAL AID IN ACTION 🚒

The City of Camden Fire Department is assisting Fairfield County Fire Service with an ongoing fire at a mattress facility on Highway 321 South in Winnsboro.

Camden Fire has sent one engine and a three-person crew to assist with firefighting operations, joining multiple agencies responding to the incident.

Mutual aid is a vital part of the fire service. When additional personnel and resources are needed, departments across our region answer the call and work together to help protect our communities.

We wish our Camden firefighters and all crews responding in Fairfield County a safe operation. ❤️🚒

We are now a little over 12 hours into being on scene. Multiple agencies continue to arrive and assist Fairfield County as operations continue.

We are incredibly grateful for the dedication, teamwork, and support from everyone who has answered the call. Please continue to keep all responders, those affected in thoughts as we work together.

⚠️ KNOW THE DIFFERENCE: HEAT EXHAUSTION VS. HEAT STROKE

With dangerous heat expected, knowing the warning signs could save a life.

Heat exhaustion may include dizziness, heavy sweating, cool or clammy skin, nausea, a weak pulse and muscle cramps. Get the person into a cooler place, provide water if they are fully conscious, and begin cooling them down.

Heat stroke is a medical emergency. Warning signs can include confusion, a severe headache, very hot skin, loss of consciousness and a body temperature around 103° or higher.

🚨 If you suspect heat stroke, call 911 immediately and begin cooling the person while waiting for help.

Please share—especially during a week when temperatures will be dangerously hot.
