Please join us in wishing our Assistant County Veterans Services Officer, John Heaser (SFC US Army Reserve, Retired), a very fond farewell. John has been serving the Veteran community of Winona for 9 years, and has been an absolutely tenacious advocate for our Veterans and their families. Beginning next week, the VA will be conducting one of the largest expansions of Veterans Benefits in their history. Any Veteran who "served in the Vietnam War, the Gulf War, Iraq, Afghanistan, the Global War on Terror, or any other combat zone after 9/11 will be eligible to enroll directly in VA health care without first applying for VA benefits."

If you are a Veteran who was exposed to toxins in any of these theaters, or anything else covered under the PACT Act, the Winona County Veterans Services Office or your local CVSO can help you apply for health care from the VA regardless of whether you have any service-connected disabilities. Please give us a call if this applies to you, and we will be standing by to help.
