Sergeant Anthony Wurst of the Winona Police Department recently participated in Law Enforcement United (Team Minnesota) making a 250-mile trek from Atlantic City, NJ to Washington DC during Police Week. The ride honors the service and sacrifice of all fallen law enforcement officers that have died in the line of duty and remembering the survivors they left behind. In order to participate in Law Enforcement United, each rider must fundraise a minimum of $1,800.00. Anthony was able to meet the minimum goal, due to generous community wide support from both citizens and business owners. Approximately 500 police officers from across the nation participated in the four-day journey. The department would like to extend our gratitude to all those who showed their support. Additionally, we want to thank Sergeant Wurst for his continued commitment to honoring the fallen officers and their families.

Congratulations to Officer Tanner Blong who was sworn in this morning as our newest officer.
