On-demand showing of Screenagers: Under the Influence! You can watch the film anytime between June 5, 2026- June 19, 2026. DM or email us at [email protected], and we’ll send you the link.

In this film, Screenagers filmmaker Delaney Ruston picks up her camera to examine the impact of our digital age on teens' decision-making in relation to substances such as va**ng, drugs, and alcohol.

Exploring the latest research and learning more about the personal experiences of teens and families, the film highlights the changing landscape of the substances themselves, offering solutions for how we can best empower teens as they face decisions about what they will and will not be influenced by.

This event is made possible by the Winooski Partnership for Prevention, in partnership with Winooski School District and our generous funders.

National Fentanyl Awareness Day is a day of action where hundreds of businesses, nonprofit organizations, schools, and government offices work together to protect Americans from the deadly threat of illicit fentanyl and counterfeit prescription pills.

Nearly half of teens don’t know that deadly fentanyl is used to make fake pills sold on social media and in communities across the country. With young people increasingly seeking relief from stress through self-medication, this knowledge gap has devastating consequences. Through collaborative education and action, we can save lives.

We observe National Fentanyl Awareness Day (NFAD) to raise awareness about the dangers of illegally made fentanyl, promote lifesaving prevention strategies such as naloxone use, and encourage public action to continue the progress in reducing overdose deaths. While overdose deaths in the United States have declined by approximately 25% over the past year, recent data suggest this decline is leveling off. Illegally made fentanyl remains the leading driver of overdose deaths, with increasing risk among young people due to counterfeit pills and substances that may contain fentanyl without their knowledge.
Visit fentanylawarenessday.org to learn how you can make a difference in your community.

HOW YOU CAN HELP

Join us in amplifying awareness on April 29th. Stay tuned for our CDC NFAD partner toolkit and NFAD toolkit to access key messages, social media templates, partner emails, and more. Share DOP's additional resources, including fact sheets, videos, and social media graphics. CDC’s Free Mind campaign also has a fact sheet specifically on fake pills! https://www.cdc.gov/overdose-resources/communication-resources/index.html

One conversation, one share, one dose of naloxone can make the difference between life and death.
