This week, many parts of Vermont have sustained significant & catastrophic damage due to flooding. We are thinking of our employees and Vermonters alike during this time as they bare the burdens of some of the worst flooding since Hurricane Irene, with more rain to come in the current forecast.
The Vermont community is full of love, grit, and empathy. We know our communities will come together and come back stronger. But in the days to come, our family, friends, and neighbors will need an extraordinary level of support:
UNIVERSITY OF VERMONT DONATION INITIATIVE:
UVM is coordinating an opportunity to donate items of need as cleanup and recovery efforts get underway. Today, July 13, a van will be in front of the Davis Center from 10AM to 4PM to accept donations of water and a limited array of nonperishable “grab and go” food items:
· Bottled water and electrolyte drinks (such as Gatorade) in case quantity, so they can be packed and moved easily from site to site.
· Grab-and-go food items, nonperishable and not susceptible to heat, such as granola or energy bars in case quantity or other easily packed and moved storage containers (such as Ziploc bags).
