The last concert of the year at Fort Halifax Park was last Friday night and featured:
Bella Ann Loubier and the Fossils
It seemed to go over well and was attended by a good crowd.

Fort Halifax Park news.

A new paved handicap accessible walkway has been installed at Fort Halifax Park. The walkway starts at the parking lot and extends in front of the Bateau to the entrance to Fort Halifax Blockhouse.

Richard Upham of Winslow donated the funds and with the help of Mike Ouellette; owner of Carroll's Paving the work was completed Monday at no cost to the town or state.

This is a great addition with access to Fort Halifax Blockhouse greatly improved. Thankyou Richard and Mike. Pictures are below. The project was made possible by the combined coordination of the State of Maine Conservation Department, Winslow Park and Recreation, Winslow Public Works, and the Friends of Fort Halifax.

This Thursday - August 6th - Ross Greger Adams will be performing at Fort Halifax Park in Winslow - 6 to 7:30. Ross is high energy and plays many different instruments including banjo, guitar, fiddle, and others. Ross plays a mixture of Irish and folk music and must see for an evening of great entertainment.

This Thursday - July 30th the Concert at Fort Halifax Park has been cancelled due to weather. Bella Ann was scheduled for this event. We have rescheduled Bella for August 21st. Bella will play from 5 to 6 and the Fossils will play from 6 to 7:30.

The next concert at Fort Halifax Park is next Thursday July 30th in Winslow.
We are very excited to have a local talent "Bella Ann" performing at the park between 6:00 and 7:30 pm. Bella was brought up and lives right here in the Town of Winslow so please come down to support this super entertainer.
Rita's Food Truck will provide food and drink on site. As the date gets closer, we will have more share about this event.

1805 Schoolhouse

The Friends of Fort Halifax are very involved with the 1804 Schoolhouse on the Cushman Road in Winslow. This spring a new roof was put on the schoolhouse. The roofing material used is a composite that resembles a cedar shake design. The roof replacement was done by Kennebec Roofing out of Winslow. The roof looks great and will last for at least 50 to 70 years.
The Friends of Fort Halifax are currently working with the Town of Winslow to come up with signage at the site to explain the history of the schoolhouse. The building was used as a schoolhouse and general store that taught children, sold lumber, potatoes, and bat guano.

This Thursday is the second concert at Fort Halifax Park.
Event starts at 6:00 pm. There will be a food truck "Rita's". Bring your chairs. Denny Breau is a Country Singer. Denny also sings Folk and Blues. Hope to see you there. The Fort Halifax Blockhouse will be open to the public.

This week is the start of the summer concert series at Fort Halifax Park. The first event is Don Roy Band. Don's group will sing with a French-Canadian twist. The concert is this Thursday June 18th starting at 6:00 pm. A food truck will be there to sell food and drinks. Please pass on this post to others. Hope to see you this Thursday at the park.
