With winter arriving and the risk of storms in our future, we want you and your family to be safe. As we all know these weather conditions can lead to power outages, hypothermia, frostbite, fires and carbon monoxide poisoning related to space heaters and fireplaces. We have prepared a few tips to help you be prepared during winter.

As best as you can, be prepared
• Monitor local weather sources and keep your devices and power banks charged in case of power outages.
• Create an emergency kit of non-perishable food, drinking water, batteries, flashlights, medicines, blankets, warm clothing, and other essential supplies for each family member. Emergency kits should last at least 3 days.
• Maintain emergency supplies in your car. Include jumper cables, a flashlight, batteries, warm clothes, blankets, bottled water, and non-perishable snacks. ***Keep your car fueled***
• Prepare your home to keep out the cold with insulation, caulking, and weather stripping. Learn how to keep your pipes from freezing.
• Change the batteries in your smoke alarms and carbon monoxide detectors.
• Have some cash on hand in case bank machines and electronic payment methods go down due to power outages.

If you have any additional tips please add them in the comments.
