The Winsted community is grieving the loss of one of our beloved Economic Development Commission members, Carrie Stetson.

Our hearts go out to Carrie's family, friends, neighbors, and all who had the privilege of knowing her. We are deeply saddened by her passing and the loss of a truly dedicated community member.

Carrie was always willing to go above and beyond for others. She never hesitated to step up, lend a hand, and support the people and organizations that make our community strong. Her kindness, commitment, and generous spirit touched countless lives and left a lasting impact on Winsted.

Carrie will be greatly missed. Her legacy of service and care for others will continue to inspire us.

Please keep her loved ones in your thoughts during this difficult time.

Our Economic Development Commission was out and about today at the 2026 NW CT Economic Development Summit, presented by the Northwest Connecticut Chamber of Commerce and Northwest Hills Council of Governments.

The summit brought together leaders from business, government, tourism, planning, and community organizations to discuss economic growth, regional collaboration, and opportunities shaping the future of our communities.

We’re grateful for the opportunity to connect, learn, and collaborate with others who are committed to strengthening Northwest Connecticut and supporting a vibrant future for our region.
