For our September training Winsted Fire Department focused on maintaining our skills in operating and positioning our ladder truck.

Regular training helps ensure our firefighters are prepared to safely and effectively deploy the ladder truck when responding to incidents where it’s needed. Proper positioning and operation are critical to supporting our crews and helping those in need.

We’re committed to continuing to train, learn, and stay ready to serve our community!

A few members of Winsted Fire Department traveled to Lambeau Field to participate in the 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb, honoring the 343 firefighters and emergency responders who made the ultimate sacrifice on September 11, 2001.

Climbing in their honor is a small way to remember their courage, sacrifice, and the families and communities forever changed that day.

Today, we remember the 2,977 lives lost on September 11, 2001, and honor the courage and sacrifice of the firefighters, police officers, EMTs, and civilians who answered the call that day.

We especially remember the 343 firefighters and 2 FDNY paramedics who made the ultimate sacrifice while running toward danger to save others.

Their bravery, sacrifice, and dedication will never be forgotten.

We remember. We honor. We will never forget.

Last night, the Winsted Fire Department was out training for the unexpected! 🚒
Our firefighters worked on open water rescue and trail rescue techniques, focusing on the skills and teamwork needed to safely respond when someone needs help in challenging environments.
Training like this helps keep our crew prepared to serve our community when it matters most.
A big thank you to everyone who took the time to train and sharpen these important skills! 👨‍🚒🌊

Our members spent the evening yesterday getting valuable behind-the-wheel practice with our apparatuses, working on everything from maneuvering through tight spaces, backing into small spaces and building confidence behind the wheel. Training like this helps ensure we're ready to respond safely and efficiently when it is needed.

A big thank you to all of our members who took the time to train today. The more we practice, the better prepared we are to serve our community.
