The Winston-Salem Police Department remains committed to holding individuals accountable when laws are violated. WSPD staff will be presenting potential curfew options to City officials next week and are working with downtown businesses to ensure trespassing signage is properly posted to deter unlawful gatherings on private property.

“I responded to the downtown area last night and witnessed these events firsthand,” said Chief William H. Penn, Jr. “The continued pattern of this behavior is concerning. The recovery of a firearm in a crowded environment involving alcohol and drug use significantly increased the potential for serious harm. We remain committed to enforcing the law and taking appropriate action to maintain public safety.”
