Today's W**D pollen rating is 46 MODERATE.
Today's GRASS pollen rating is 9 LOW.
Today's TREE pollen rating is 5 LOW.

POLLEN FORECAST [PRS]:
Sat 06/06: W**ds = 24 LOW, Grasses = 17 LOW, Trees = 15 LOW.
Sun 06/07: W**ds = 24 LOW, Grasses = 17 LOW, Trees = 15 LOW.
Mon 06/08: W**ds = 24 LOW, Grasses = 17 LOW, Trees = 15 LOW.

W**d pollen was abnormally abundant in today’s sample with the concentration reaching the upper MODERATE range. It seems unlikely that this elevated level represents the overall concentration in the ambient air. It is more likely that a high concentration grouping of w**d pollen grains (plantain) encountered our pollen sampler. Both tree and grass pollen are LOW today. Today’s tree pollen is 25% pine family, 25% birch, 25% willow, and 25% hickory. Temperatures the next three days will be quite warm but with somewhat comfortable humidity. There is no significant rainfall in the forecast until some potential showers and thunderstorms develop Monday afternoon. Through Monday, all pollen types are expected to be in the LOW range. (Russ)

All pollen types are LOW today. Tree pollen is 33% birch, 25% pine family, 17% cedar/juniper family, 8% walnut, 8% willow, and 8% other trees. Temperatures will warm up over the next three days, and there is no rain in the forecast. Through Sunday day, all pollen types are expected to remain in the LOW range. (Russ)

Thu 06/04: Grasses = 26 MODERATE, Trees & W**ds = 20 LOW.
Fri 06/05: Grasses = 26 MODERATE, Trees & W**ds = 20 LOW.
Sat 06/06: Grasses = 26 MODERATE, Trees & W**ds = 24 LOW.

Pollen levels are slightly lower than expected today with all pollen types being in the LOW range. Tree pollen is 33% pine family, 20% other trees, 20% birch, 13% cedar/juniper family, and 13% hickory. Temperatures will warm up over the next three days. Tomorrow and Friday will have less wind than today. Saturday will be a bit breezier. Through Saturday, grass pollen is forecast to be in the lower MODERATE range with tree and w**d pollen both in the upper LOW range. (Russ)

POLLEN FORECAST [PRS]:
Wed 06/03: Trees = 30 MODERATE, Grasses & W**ds = 26 MODERATE.
Thu 06/04: Trees = 30 MODERATE, Grasses & W**ds = 26 MODERATE.
Fri 06/05: W**ds = 28 MODERATE, Trees = 28 MODERATE, Grasses = 26 MODERATE.

All pollen types are in the MODERATE range today. Tree pollen is 34% birch, 15% cedar/juniper family, 13% walnut, 11% hickory, 9% pine family, 8% other trees, 6% willow, 2% alder, and 2% elm. Air mass trajectories are out of the northeast today and will continue that way through Thursday. This could be affecting our tree pollen count and tree pollen varieties represented. Temperatures will warm up over the next three days and winds will lessen. All pollen types are expected to be in the lower MODERATE range through Friday. (Russ)

POLLEN FORECAST [PRS]:
Tue 06/02: Trees = 28 MODERATE, W**ds = 26 MODERATE, Grasses = 25 LOW.
Wed 06/03: Trees = 26 MODERATE, Grasses & W**ds = 24 LOW.
Thu 06/04: Trees = 26 MODERATE, Grasses = 25 LOW, W**ds = 24 LOW.

All pollen types are in the LOW range today. Tree pollen is 32% pine family, 16% cedar/juniper family, 16% walnut, 11% hickory, 11% willow, 11% other trees, and 5% oak. Tomorrow will be windier than today, causing pollen levels to increase. Tree and w**d pollen are expected to reach the lower MODERATE range with grass pollen moving to the upper LOW range. With a bit less wind on Wednesday and Thursday, pollen concentrations will drop slightly. All pollen types will be around the LOW-to-MODERATE threshold. (Russ)

POLLEN FORECAST [PRS]:
Sat 05/30: W**ds = 15 LOW, Grasses & Trees = 51 HIGH.
Sun 05/31: W**ds = 10 LOW, Grasses & Trees = 40 MODERATE.
Mon 06/01: W**ds = 10 LOW, Grasses & Trees = 30 MODERATE.

A notable uptick in airborne pollen levels was observed today with both tree and grass pollen in the lower High range. W**d pollen is Low. Quite a variety of tree pollen was seen today and after looking at backward trajectories, the air mass in place originated over the mountains of Virginia. The pollen season is likely lagging a few weeks behind there, both due to being further north and at a higher elevation. This likely explains why more tree species were observed and the breakdown is as follows: 20% pine family, 17% birch, 17% hickory, 13% walnut, 10% cedar/juniper family, 9% oak, 4% mulberry, 3% chestnut, 3% willow, 2% other trees, 1% cottonwood, and 1% sycamore. Dry weather is on tap this weekend and with forecast trajectories being similar to today, one more day of High grass and tree pollen is anticipated on Saturday. Grass and tree pollen remain Moderate on Thursday. The tree pollen is 50% cedar/juniper family, 19% pine family, 15% chestnut, 4% willow, 4% cottonwood, 4% mulberry, and 4% other trees. No w**d pollen was observed in today’s sample. Pleasant weather is on tap for the next three days with generally less humidity than recent days, no rainfall, and high temperatures ranging from the mid 70s to lower 80s. Airborne pollen levels are expected to remain steady with grass and tree pollen hovering in the lower Moderate range. Fri 05/29: Grasses = 33 MODERATE, Trees = 28 MODERATE, W**ds = 15 LOW.
Sat 05/30: Grasses = 35 MODERATE, Trees = 30 MODERATE, W**ds = 20 LOW.

Grass and tree pollen are in the lower Moderate range today and w**d pollen is Low. The tree pollen is 43% cottonwood, 17% chestnut, 13% pine family, 9% willow, 9% cedar/juniper family, 4% mulberry, and 4% other trees. Following a chance of some afternoon and evening showers and storms today, drier weather is on tap through the first half of the weekend. Since we are well past the peak of tree pollen season, no major increases in airborne pollen levels are expected despite the more conducive weather. POLLEN FORECAST [PRS]:
Wed 05/27: Grasses = 30 MODERATE, W**ds = 15 LOW, Trees = 10 LOW.
Thu 05/28: Grasses = 33 MODERATE, W**ds = 15 LOW, Trees = 10 LOW.
Fri 05/29: Grasses = 35 MODERATE, W**ds = 20 LOW, Trees = 10 LOW.

Grass pollen was able to reach the Moderate range today between the periods of showers and storms. Tree (33% chestnut, 22% pine family, 22% willow, 11% hickory, and 11% mulberry) and w**d pollen are Low. Unsettled weather will continue for the next couple of days before drier weather arrives to round out the workweek. Due to the showery nature of the expected rainfall, grass pollen should remain Moderate during drier periods, but concentrations will be reduced temporarily following rainfall. POLLEN FORECAST [PRS]:
Sat 05/23: Grasses = 9 LOW, Trees = 8 LOW, W**ds = 1 LOW.
Sun 05/24: W**ds = 1 LOW, Grasses & Trees = 7 LOW.
Mon 05/25: W**ds = 1 LOW, Grasses & Trees = 7 LOW.

Today’s tree pollen level is very LOW (29% pine family, 29% other trees, 14% sycamore, 14% hickory, and 14% willow.) Grass pollen and w**d pollen are also in the LOW range. Due to yesterday’s rainfall, pollen was washed away from the air. Rain is expected to continue through the weekend, which should keep tree pollen levels LOW. Grass and w**d pollen are also expected to remain in the LOW range throughout the weekend. A chance for showers on Memorial Day with increasing chances for Tuesday are expected to keep all pollen types in the LOW range for the start of the week. Tuesday’s pollen levels will be lower than Monday due to wetter conditions on Tuesday. THERE WILL BE NO POLLEN REPORT ON MAY 25TH DUE TO THE MEMORIAL DAY HOLIDAY.
