We’re holding a Naloxone Training at Georgia Taylor Neighborhood Center, 1471 W. Clemmonsville Road, on June 16 from 6-7:30 p.m.

The Naloxone Training will teach participants how to reverse an opioid overdose. Naloxone, also known as Narcan, is a nasal spray that can reverse the effects of an opioid overdose within minutes. It is safe to use and is a critical resource in addressing the overdose epidemic. The training will include how to recognize signs of an overdose and how to administer naloxone as well as harm reduction strategies and support services available for those who are struggling with addiction. Participants will be provided with naloxone at no cost.

Monthly trainings will be held at different recreation centers or the Clark Campbell Transportation Center. For a full list of events, visit https://forsyth.cc/article.aspx?NewsID=29011

The trainings are a collaboration between Forsyth County Health and Human Services (HHS), City of Winston-Salem Recreation and Parks, and the Winston-Salem Transit Authority.
