Some customers may experience some discoloration/cloudiness of their water after the large volume (approximately 118,000 gallons) of water used to extinguish the unfortunate fire on SE Thompson. The discoloration/cloudiness is caused from a significant velocity change in the water mains, which stirs up residual sediment in the water mains. The cloudiness/discoloration will go away on its own but may take some time.

Dear Customers,
We are aware of some dirty water throughout the water distribution system. A yellow discoloration is being reported. Crews are aware of the issue, and main line flushing in various spots is underway. We began our yearly valve operating program about a month ago, which can sometimes cause dirty water. The water, while not aesthetically pleasing due to the color variation, is safe for consumption.

Brockway Road Waterline replacement project is underway. This project includes installation of 695 lineal feet of 10-inch water main, 195 lineal feet of 6-inch water main, two fire hydrants and one service connection. Projected completion is mid January, 2021.
Contractor: Cradar Enterprises Inc.
Project cost is $115,920.00
