Lots of fun with everyone on Saturday at Blues From The Top starting with our MC Kai Turner, more painting by Dana Brawley, backstage gatherings, and a festival full of happy fans!!

One of the highlights at Blues From The Top has always been a youth stage that plays in between the sets. It is called Check Out The Music Stage. One of the bands performing this year was Garrett James and the Wanderers from Tucson, AZ. They won the challenge in Tucson and competed at the International Blues Challenge in Memphis in January.

There were many young musicians playing throughout the weekend!

Closing out three great days of music, on Sunday, was Los Lobos. This band has been rocking the stages since 1973 and they had a great time in Colorado. Their mix of rock, Tex-Mex, blues, R&B, and traditional cumbia, boleros, and norteños makes for a great set of dancing and sing-a-long to so many of their well-loved hits.

The band includes all original 1973 members: David Hidalgo, Cesar Rosas, Louie Perez, and Conrad Lozano, along with Steve Berlliln (1982) and Alfredo Ortiz (2021).

Great set and a great way to close another great year at Blues From The Top Music Festival!!

The third band on Sunday was Southern Hospitality. This band is comprised of three best friends, who are all top blues musicians, that wanted to play together so they formed the band around 2011 and have been making magic ever since. Each of them has their own bands: JP Soars II (JP Soars & The Red Hots), Damon Fowler (Damon Fowler Band & Desoto Tiger Testimony), and Victor Wainwright (Victor Wainwright & The Train). The SH drummer is Chris Peet who is also JP's drummer, and SH bass player is Chuck RIley, who plays with Damon's bands.

There is something very special when this band plays together. Not only are they all amazing musicians in their own right, but they also have a blast playing together!! And we were so lucky to have them back at Blues from The Top!!

Nothing beats an uplifting Gospel show on Sunday and the Blind Boys of Alabama brought it to Blues From The Top this year!! What more could you ask for than blue skies, beautiful mountains, and the perfect harmonies of this band. And what fun they have too - singing and dancing and defying Chuck - the tour manager - to stay in their seats. And then he took Sterling out into the crowd to "Shake My Hand". It was such a treat to have them come to Colorado and honor our stage!!
