The Winters Fire Department will be conducting aerial training with the new ladder truck on Wednesday morning. This training will be conducted in the downtown corridor of our historic downtown. Because of this training, there may be some disruption to traffic in the area due to the setup of the aerial device. Fire personnel will be on site to help with traffic flow. Please don't be alarmed in the area; it's just our staff becoming more proficient with this piece of apparatus in one of our highest target hazard areas. If there are any questions about this, please contact the fire department. Thank you.

Winters High School Seniors are you interested in a career in the Fire Service or looking for a senior project? Join the Winters Fire Department Explorer Program!

Participants will get firsthand experience of what it's like to be a firefighter. Applications are available for pick up between 9am - 5pm at the Winters Fire Department (700 Main St) or you can apply online at https://www.cityofwinters.org/367/Fire-Explorers

Applications must be turned in by September 9th.

It’s the 250th Celebration of the greatest country this year. Let’s celebrate in a safe way this year and ensure our community and first responders can enjoy this great nation during the Third and Fourth of July safely! Winters Fire will collect any surrendered fire works with no questions asked and dispose of them in a safe and proper way. Please call the fire station if you have any questions, 530-795-4131!

🚨 Prescribed burn alert for Monday, June 8

📍 Highway 128 west of Winters (Yolo County) – 40 acres between June 8-12
🔥 Firefighters will be conducting the prescribed burn on the north side of the highway between Pleasants Valley Road to near where the Putah Creek Fishing Access Site 2 is located (Highway 128 Yolo County mile markers 1.2-4.6).
🚗 Commuters taking Highway 128 can expect single-lane traffic control at the site during this prescribed burn.

📍 Pepperwood Preserve (Sonoma County) – 120 acres between Monday and Tuesday
🔥 CAL FIRE is assisting the Pepperwood Preserve, Sonoma County Fire District, Fire Forward and Spy Conservation at this burn that will promote a healthy forest and reduce wildfire risk on what is a strategic fire control ridge separating Franz Valley and the Mark West area.
📱 This burn will be highly visible from both Calistoga and the greater Santa Rosa area. Please do not call 911.
