The Winterset Community School District (WCSD) is located in Madison County, Iowa, about 30 miles southwest of the state capital of Des Moines. WCSD is the largest employer in the city of Winterset, with 236 employees serving approximately 1,700 students in preschool through grade 12. WCSD was named a Top Workplace in Central Iowa, 2015 and 2016

1:1 Technology Program, grades 2-12 – All students are provided a high quality laptop to use as a learning tool during the school year. Teachers use a blend of traditional and technology infused lessons to engage 21st century learners. High Graduation Rate - Well above the state average of 92 percent, WCSD students complete their high school graduation requirements at a rate of more than 98 percent.
