We are working toward a new community event later this summer!
WINTERSET COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT NIGHT
***PARTICIPANTS NEEDED***
The Winterset Police Department, The Burk Memorial Community Policing Fund, and the Crisis Intervention & Advocacy Center will be hosting the first annual Winterset Community Engagement Night on Thursday, August 6th, 2026, on the Courthouse lawn. Our goal is to bring the community together for a night of fun and positive interactions with public safety groups, local businesses, and other community organizations. Public safety organizations around the country host βNational Night Outβ on an annual basis, focused on fostering a positive relationship with law enforcement. We want to take this a step further and include the community as a whole.
In order for us to accomplish this, we need the help of businesses and organizations through the City of Winterset and Madison County to join in and make this a fun and positive event. We are looking for businesses, groups, and organizations to set up a table, booth, tent, etc., and simply interact with the public. This can include simple conversations, flyers, giveaways, interactive activities for kids and/or adults, or anything else you can dream up.
The Winterset Police Department and the Burk Memorial Community Policing Fund plan to have a tent and host a dunk tank.
If you are unable to attend, please consider sponsoring an activity. We are searching for sponsors for face painting, balloon animals, or cotton candy professionals; bounce houses; hot dogs; or potentially other ideas.
To donate, sponsor an activity, or register as a participant, please contact Chief Ryan Pittman. There is no cost to register as a participant.
