A huge shout-out to this outstanding crew of Winthrop High School Class of ‘24 Seniors on this Day of Caring! Dressed to get some work done, they arrived this morning and armed themselves with rakes shovels and a wheelbarrow, cleaning up the sand off the parking lot and the tree debris off the front yard of the Winthrop Ambulance Service Headquarters!
Strong work by these young men and women!

Our collective heart goes out to the family of Emily Bryant-Roberts, one of our Winthrop Ambulance Service Alumni, of the news of her passing.
Emily was always so much stronger than she gave herself credit for… always feeling there was something more needing to be done. Her final fight was courageous, and by all accounts, graceful.
Rest In Peace sweet lady. Yours was a life of faith and service to your God and your fellow human being. God Rest Your Soul.

It is the start of a New Era for the men and women of Winthrop Ambulance Service!
Thanks to the dedication, PATIENCE, perseverance and drive of the Winthrop Professional EMS Providers Local 5176, (the first non-Fire Based EMS Affiliate of the Internaltional Association of Fire Fighters in Maine!), their very first Collective Bargaining Agreement has been ratified, signed, sealed, delivered and is now in force! Congratulations to all WAS Staff!

Volunteer Firefighter Klayton Manning, 18
Southeast Caldwell County Volunteer Fire Department. Luling, TX
At approximately 1808hrs., Firefighter Klayton Manning, driving the fire department’s ATV, responded to reports of smoke in the area. While at the scene, he was approached by a man with a gun and was shot and killed. Firefighter Manning’s cousin was with him and also died from gunshot wounds. The assailant is in custody.
