Steak dinner - starting at 4pm, why cook dinner when a fire fighter can do it for you👩🏽‍🚒
Raffle tickets - members can be spotted at the parade, around the station or anywhere around town today. Tickets will be available at the door during our steak dinner as well.

Brasher - Winthrop Fire responded mutual aid to a structure fire on maple street in Potsdam. Incident comment requested Tower 12 and man power. Member assisted with extinguishing and overhaul until they were released from the scene.

This week for BWFD:

July 7, 2026 - Alarm time: 13:35
Brasher-Winthrop Fire responded to a report of a hay bailer on fire. Arriving units reported the hay bailer fire had spread to the field. Home owners were able to keep the fire contained with tractor Members extinguished the fire and returned to services. At 15:36 members were requested to return to the same address for a field fire. Members extinguished the fire and returned to services.

Brasher Winthrop Fire responded mutual aid for a report of an outside fire in Helena Fire district. Arriving units stood down in coming man power for a controlled burn.

Brasher-Winthrop Fire responded to an alarm activation at St. Lawrence Central school. Arriving units spoke with administrators who reported this was a drill.

July 10, 2026 - Alarm Time: 03:19
Brasher-Winthrop Fire responded to a report of a vehicle into a swamp that had taken a pole down. National Grid had already arrived on scene reporting the wires down were no longer live. Members were able to enter the swamp and safely extract the person from their vehicle. Members remained on scene until EMS cleared the scene back in service. There were no injuries reported during this accident.

Brasher-Winthrop Fire sends well wishes with St. Lawrence Centrals Varsity Softball Team coach Brown and two of our BWFD members Coach H. Agans and Coach M. Agans as they head to Binghamton to play in the Final Four. Nicolville, Lawrencville, West Stockholm, North Lawrence fire departments and Tri-Town Rescue participated in sending them off!

Nicolville Chief Justin Sweet who assisted with the send off has two daughters playing this weekend! Congratulations ladies and Goodluck!

June 10, 2026 - Alarm Time: 18:13

Brasher-Winthrop Fire responded to a smoke investigation with heavy smoke reported by a passerby. 02-3 reported heavy black smoke in the area. 02-1 put West Stockholm Fire on stand by at their station. 02-3 arrived on scene reporting tires and a trailer on fire. E-79 arrived on scene members stretched a line and were able to extinguish the fire before it reached the near by garage. A lightening strike appeared to be the cause on the fire.

While members were on scene of the fire Brasher-Winthrop Fire had a second call at 18:31 hours for a tree down in the roadway.

April 23, 2026 - Alarm Time: 09:49

At 09:49 hours Brasher-Winthrop Fire was requested to respond mutual aid all equipment and man power to Helena for a working barn fire. Members from multiple departments worked for many hours to extinguish the fire. West Stockholm Fire provided stand by at our station. Brasher-Winthrop Fire was back in service around 18:00 hours.
