Mock DWI Drill at St.Lawrence Central
*any “injuries” pictured are effects from make up*
May 1, 2026 - this drill was run as realistic as possible to provide the students with information and knowledge on the effects of drinking and driving. First responders and law enforcement responded as if this was an actual emergency response, extricating victims from the vehicle, assisting EMS personnel who provided medical assessments and assisted the SLC Coroner and Funeral home with a deceased victim.
Drinking and driving can have life long effects to all victims involved and is punishable by law.
Huge shout out to:

‼️Reminder‼️
There will be a heavy first responder presence in the area of the school tomorrow. Please refrain from flying drones during this time tomorrow as this drill will also include a LifeNet of New York helicopter!
This is just a drill but will be conducted as an actual emergency response!
Thank you!

On May 1st, St. Lawrence Central School will be conducting a planned mock DWI (Driving While Intoxicated) drill as part of our commitment to student safety and awareness.
This drill will include emergency response personnel and a helicopter operating in the area to simulate real-life conditions. We ask that NO ONE in the community fly drones on May 1st from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM near the St. Lawrence central high school and the elementary school, as they can interfere with operations and pose a risk to those involved, including the helicopter crew.
Please be advised this is only a drill, and there is no cause for concern. We appreciate your cooperation in helping us provide a safe and educational experience for our students. Thank you! LifeNet of New York

April 9, 2026 - Alarm Time: 17:35

Brasher-Winthrop Fire, Tri-Town Rescue and Car 13 were dispatched to a reported house fire with possible entrapment. 02-3 arrived on scene within minutes reporting a fully involved house fire. Bystander/passerby’s of the fire had assisted the occupants in exiting the home. Officers on scene called for engine, tankers and manpower out of West Stockholm. Upon arrival the fire had spread to two nearby fields, the vehicle, and camper. Officers quickly called for tankers and manpower from Norfolk, and tankers from Lawrencville and Norwood. National Grid was called to the scene to cut the power from the residence as a live power line had fallen causing firefighters limited access to the A side of the home. Potsdam Fire was then moved up to the scene from stand by at West Stockholm station. Massena Salvation Army EDS team assisted on scene providing hydration to firefighters. Cause and Origin was also requested to the scene. Members from all departments battled this blaze for multiple hours as the wind made extinguishment difficult. Members were back in service shortly after 23:00.
