It was an aptly pleasant day yesterday for CWD to monitor the water quality of Pleasant Pond. The Secchi disk transparency (water clarity) of Upper Pleasant (shown in photo) was 3.0 meters, or 10 feet. We measured 3.3 m in the main body of Pleasant Pond. Lake levels in the Cobbossee Watershed are many inches below full pond, which is normal for this time of year, usually due to annual fall drawdowns. The drought, however, which is now "extreme", has been a major factor on many lakes. See the Cobbossee Watershed District October Water Levels Report.
