It is very important to understand the challenges in the Fire Service.

Fire departments from across Wisconsin invited city leaders and lawmakers to experience what firefighters go through on a daily basis as part of Fire Ops 101 on Wednesday.

🚒 NEW APPARATUS ALERT AT THE MEMORIAL! 🚒

If you’ve visited the Wisconsin Fire & EMS Memorial Visitors Center recently, you might notice the bay looks a little different! On Saturday, May 17th, we had a official “change of quarters” for our display unit.

👋 Farewell to a One-of-a-Kind Piece of History
After spending the last 11 months with us here in Wisconsin Rapids, the Sauk City Fire Department’s 1924 Grass Premier Chemical Truck has officially departed for home.

This truck is truly a piece of rare American history. Grass Premier Trucks only built three fire trucks during its entire 14-year history, and only one single chemical truck!

Engine nerds, eat your heart out: its most unique feature is its Lycoming engine.

* Lycoming actually started out manufacturing sewing machines before pivoting to automotive engines.
* Their primary buyers were legendary luxury automakers Cord and Duesenberg.
* At their peak in 1929, they built a massive 60,000 engines for the automotive world!

We were incredibly honored to host this rare gem. Thank you, Sauk City Fire Department!

🤝 Welcome to the Bay: The 1933 Seagrave!
Taking its place in the Visitors Center is a stunning 1933 Seagrave engine on loan from Menomonee Falls!

This beautiful vintage rig is packed with classic firefighting history, featuring:

* A powerful Seagrave in-line 6-cylinder engine
* A dual ignition system
* Traditional front suction and side discharges

Come on down to the Memorial, step into the Visitors Center, and check out this incredible piece of Wisconsin firefighting heritage in person!
