This past Sunday, Grand Rapids Auxiliary got together to help make the holiday a little more special for some. The afternoon was spent buying and wrapping presents for our annual Helping Hands.

It not only is special for the ones gifted, but to the department as well. It is a great feeling to be able to make the holidays a little more special and meaningful to others.

Hoping that everyone has a Happy Holiday this year! 🎄

Today, we honor the hard work, dedication, and contributions of all workers across our community -especially those who keep it safe, strong, and moving forward.

Firefighter Riley Daniel Ray Huiras, 20
Grand Rapids Volunteer Fire Department. Wisconsin Rapids, WI
Firefighter Huiras became ill after suffering a brain aneurysm on July 31, 2022, after responding to a fire involving multiple structures in Nekoosa, then responded to a motor vehicle crash. He was transported to the hospital, where he remained until his death on August 3, 2022. Firefighter Huiras was also a member of the Grand Rapids Auxiliary Police Department.
