After confirmation of VDOT’s right of way and property ownership, our trash detail crew was finally able to clean up a very noticeable eyesore off of US 23 today with the removal of the trash and tents from an abandoned homeless encampment. The before and after pictures say it all. Thanks guys!

Our Trash detail crew worked on some roads in the Pound area this week. Due to a shorter work week because of a holiday tomorrow (Friday), we were only able to pick up trash for 3 days instead of 4. Our crew cleaned up Bold Camp Road, Potterstown Road, Highland Avenue, and RT. 83. They cleaned 12.8 miles of roadway and picked up 117 bags of trash. That's 9.14 bags per mile.

Our trash detail crew has been busy this week with roadside cleanups on Airport Road and Aviation Road in Wise, as well as Irondale Road, Wildcat Road, East Stone Gap Road, River Road, Back Valley Road, and Preston Road in Big Stone Gap, And the “Appy Straight” between BSG and Appalachia since Tuesday. Altogether, the crew cleaned up 9 roads, covered 16.2 miles of roadway and picked up 201 bags of trash! Here are pictures of the bags the crew picked up off those 9 roads and disposed of today!

These are pictures of the 139 bags of trash we collected from the Exit 35 off ramp and Powell Valley Road in Big Stone Gap last week and today. That was 15 bags of trash from the exit and 122 bags off Powell Valley Road. That’s an average of over 17.5 bags of trash per mile. More to come from future cleanups.

Our trash detail crew has been busy the past couple of weeks with road cleanups in Coeburn and Big Stone Gap. These are pictures of the 182 bags of trash our crew picked up on Rt. 72 South, Crab Orchard Road, and Dry Fork Road. Pictures and bag numbers for our BSG cleanups coming next week when we finish in that area. Job well done guys!
