Registration is open for our Spring classes. We are excited for a new opportunity for students. We are hosting a combined FF-1 & 2 program to help streamline the time it takes to get certified at both levels. We understand that time is important so we are trying something new. If you need just FF-2 you can just take that portion of the program. Sign up today.

Today up at the school, FF1 students worked on practical skills for forcible entry and roof venting operations. Students trained on the basics of forcing entry on our door prop along with overall skills with roof saws and the proper vent hole cuts on flat and peaked roofs. This class is moving right along, before you know it, it’ll be live burn day where all of the skills combined will be put to the test.

FF1 students today trained on Hose Advancement at the school. Students learned packing and repacking hose, deploying lines and flowing inside our burn building. Today was a huge learning day for our students as this skill is a fundamental asset to the job. Next week we move on to forcible entry!

SCBA day 2 today. Students worked through stations continuing their learning knowledge of their air packs. We took it to the next level and gave students a few scenarios to adapt and overcome to. The clip here is of a student making her way through the confidence maze course while breathing on air and navigating reduced profiles earlier in the maze. Students presented themselves this entire weekend extremely well with training. Next week starts HazMat. After that, we begin our ladders section and continue to move forward with this course!

Today, Day 1 of SCBA Self contained breathing apparatus) training up at the school. Students were introduced to their air packs and the ins and outs of how to operate them, 45 second drills, the maze and air consumption. This piece of equipment is essential to a firefighter’s survival inside a fire. Tomorrow, students will encounter more hands on stations and training on their SCBA’s. Great first practical day today and the weather was excellent! Students, see you in the morning.
